$100,000-$1,000,000 (what a broad range ;))

Maybe, but I was thinking in terms of mental stages. Negative and about even are "needs work," 10k-100k would be "getting started," 100k-1m I think of as "making it" or "on the way." And a net worth over a mil would be "made it"

I'm looking for editors, beta-readers, and some demographic research for my upcoming novel, Once Upon a Saturn Moon. If you like reading soft sci-fi thrillers, maybe with a touch of romance thrown in, you can find more information at http://seampublishing.com/once…..aturn-moon

I guess that makes sense to me! Even $500k isn't bad if the other partner also has $500k, that's a million between the two of you which is financial freedom money. Well to me it would be. I would still work for extra income and continue building that wealth, but in things that I enjoyed.

I was looking at it from the prospective of joint net worth. When I calculated mine, it would have been almost impossible to separate all of our assets, even though she makes most of the income, and I hold most of the debt :(

Doesn't change the answer for me either way. ;) How do you feel about that? How does she feel?

We are pretty equal I guess. She has more than me, and definitely more income now that I am going it alone. But I don't worry about that too much as long as things are overall balanced between us and we both feel that it's fair.

Well, the debt is pretty much a non-issue, since the agreement is that my debts, which are from before we got married, are paid with my income.

The income, well feelings there come in phases. It's more of an issue when money is tight, which happens from time to time because neither of our incomes are completely steady.

I WISH I had a positive networth. I have a negative net worth of about $14K. I'm working to bring it up!

I fall in the $10-$100k! Sounds pretty fancy but I'm only worth just over $25k.

I suppose I'm a debt-blogger, started blogging to get out of debt but the lifestyle category also fits me. I don't stick to or focus on one topic, I write about whatever is relevant at the time. :) Cool blog, reading through it now!

Great thread idea.

I'm in the $100,000-$1,000,000 range. Just broke the $100K mark a few months ago actually (^v^)

And yes, this does include my apartment.

Wow, great list, PK. I guess I'm a:

Lifestyle Bloggers – Staying out of debt while pursuing a dream to travel or otherwise pursue a non 9-5 career

My joint net worth, with my partner Will, is about $300K including the house that we live in. That's excluding the value of both of our businesses, which is super hard to calculate (I honestly have no idea how to value that.)

Sadly mywife and I are negative, we both just finished up our masters degrees and she just got a job in february.  We have a long road ahead of us towards debt repayment.  We are hoping our rental property and both our jobs will move us to 0 and positive as quickly as possible.  One of the reasons I started the blog was to be honest about our finances!

Absolutely a debt blogger! And my net worth is somewhere in the neighborhood of $2500. Oops now that I've said that there's going to be a price on my head. Confused

Right now, I'm a lifestyle blogger because I'm still in university and I'm mainly trying to keep my student loans as low as possible… but as soon as I graduate I'll go into attack the debt mode. My net worth is negative… and will only get even more negative-r for the next two years.

My content falls into a lot of those categories, but my blog was born because I'm a reformed debt blogger. Now, my preferred focus is more along the lines of a lifestyle blogger, but I'm still working to introduce more of that type of content.

Net worth used to be negative $27K five years ago. Now, it's positive $120K.  It's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it Smile

Sadly mine is negative and I really do need to start tracking it better.  Part of the problem with that is I have a separate accounting of our debts but we combined savings so I'm thinking to track our net worth as a couple together and go from there.

Negative here. Mostly because I thought the housing market had bottomed out a few years back when we purchased our first home. My crystal ball must have had some dust on it… ;)

I think you can probably separate PF bloggers into a number of distinct categories:

  • Gurus – Unclear what their real background is, but have no problem dishing out advice

PK, your categories are hilarious.  I love the Gurus bit.

What about "Did it all" – been there, done that – been bashed around a bit but came up rosy.

I am 29 and my net worth is almost $1000.00 with a little under $10K of student loan debt, which is my only debt. I rent and do not own a vehicle. Onward and upward!
